This page has some tips on building ramps.

When building curved ramps such as kickers or quarter pipes
I suggest using 1/4 in. or .98 cm. thick plywood. Make sure to support it well because of how thin it is. When building pyramids or wedge's use 1/2 in. or 1.9 cm. plywood. You should still support this well. Use 2 by 4s for supports.

Don't use nails on the plywood because it isn't very fun to fall on a lose nail. Use screws because they hold better. Also to get on the ramp smoothly screw a piece of sheetmetal to the bottom of the ramp and have some go all the way to the ground.
